March Happy St. Patricks Day

I have been knitting and crocheting.. I finished another Gator scarf in Purple.. then knit 3 Irish cloths - kept 1 and the other 2 I am donating to the senior center for bingo prise.. I am crocheting a scarf now for my brother, then need to knit one for my sister Inlaw...




Last week we had storms go thru and there was this beautiful rainbow in the front of my house.... with everything popping here I took a few other pictures.. the big tree now has leaves and the white tree line is turning green.. so got them just in time..




There was a fire last night in my little trailer park , 2 doors down.. it was an old falling down wooden cabin, behind one of the trailers.. Luckily they were home in the trailer and called fire dept in time.. or their house and a lot of ours would not be here.. very scary..

Valentines, only a little late

I wanted to post this last weekend , but my Kodak pictures hung up and I need the pictures to show you for the blog..
I knit 4 Valentines cloths for the senior centers Bingo game since it was on valentines day.. they liked them.. I need to knit or crochet or spin to keep my hands busy with mindless things..
The Heart we made for craft day at the Senior center- I hung it on my door..
I was able to go to the senior center ( internet and senior center are my social life now).. anyway I went t-w-th- then they said I could ride the van fri if I wanted too.. so I did and the hour and 1/2 ride is not worth it.. friday and mondays are bingo days so more people ride the van..
I use the equipment to help with loosing weight.. I got up to 5 min on the elliptical and 30 min on the bike plus 2 reps on the pull down - 50 lbs.. feels good.. but it is making me hungry !! I ate over 2000 calories yesterday and probably the same the day before- they serve a balanced lunch but 700+ cals yesterday and I saved the banana.. not loosing weight now.. confused on what is happening.. have 3 days at home to readjust ..

bulky scarf

I had made a beautiful bulky long wide scarf and donated it before taking a picture.. DUH.. it came out so nice I will make another an get a pic this time- I do not know how to write the pattern the way I made the open work stitches. I did a YO -front to back then brought it forward and make purl 2 tog stitch.. its a YO Purl 2 tog.. but how do I make sure people read it that way??
I donated it to the senior center for a bingo prize and I am making 3 cloths in pink with heart designs to donate for valentines day bingo..
It is cold and rainy here- so happy we did not get the ice or snow. Feel sorry for those that did get it.

winter tent

I have been feeding 3 female cats since summer. One is the kitten of the Momma Kitty, I call her. When she had the litter she started trusting me more and brought the kittens up to eat with her.. they were about 5 weeks old. I was able to grab 3 and crate them for a week and they were so loving and wanted to be rubbed and held , so I was then able to take them to the humane society for homes. I could not catch the last one until we had the first snow at Christmas and she has been in the house ever since- I tried catching Momma Kitty but when I got her in the house she stayed under my bed for 24 hours before I got her back outside. she lets me rub and pet her move her around but can not pick her up.. The other kitty I call Ring Tail as she looks Siamese but with tan rings around her tail. She is about the same age as the kitten. I can rub, pet and move her around too- but not pick up. I thought if I could crate her like the others she would come around, so I could find her a home - but she freaked and even a box scares her to death- she is also very vocal as Siamese are, she wanted outside so bad she was tearing at the door and windows. Had to let her back out.. now I am still trying to find help to get them shots and fixed.. as I am on SSD and low income..
It was raining and cold so I tried to feed the 2 inside the door they were eating when Momma kitty took off for my room yesterday and is still in there. Ring Tail likes to come in and look around then go back out , so she is coming along very slowly..
I worry about them all the time. I made this tent out of a wicker table I had, I put a trash bag under with an old blanket and a trash bag on top with a sheet to hide and block the wind..
The males are coming around more now and the kitten is in heat so I am assuming that Ring Tail is also- I sent an e-mail to humane society for help since I did not get an answer on the phone and no gas to go that far just for an answer??? still waiting...

Other projects

I have made scrabble Charms to sell they are fun and inexpensive.. I am making paper beads to go on bracelets and necklaces I am going to make out of my handspun dyed tussah silk.. will put up pics when one is finished.. still learning about making the beads.
well thought I lost this post - but I found it, so I will publish and let it go for the night.. will try another later..

Ok- lets see if this works like I want it too- these are my knitting projects the Gator scarf from Morehouse Farms is a cool one to make.. Looking forward to making the Gator purse- I need the yarn for it .. I have some to spin merino.
The Next are my "Goddess Gloves" I wrote the pattern for and need to type it up for sale .. they are fun - easy too.. You can use any ribbons you like or make a cord out of yarns to match..

2 weeks behind already

I was going to write every week and I am a little late..I have been crocheting, playing in my art journal and now trying to make paper beads for a necklace idea I have.

free scarf pattern

QUICK AND EASY SCARF PATTERN


















I used Caron Simply Soft, worsted weight yarn, out of a 6oz skein, I used about 4oz for a 60” scarf. You could keep going and make it nice and long.. Knit loose and soft.



13 Needles



CO 21 loosely


Knit 3 rows


Pattern:


K3, { YO, SK2P, YO, K3 } 3X’S

Knit 3 rows


Repeat pattern for as long as you want your scarf ending with the Knit 3 row.


BO loosely


Abbreviations


CO…..Cast on

BO…..Bind off

K…….Knit

YO…..Yarn over

SK2P….SL 1, KNIT 2 TOG, PASS SLIPPED ST OVER K2TOG.

Time really got away from me. A lot of adjustments and health issues.
I hope to be settled this coming year and post more. I have written another knitting pattern and will post it for freebie. I just have to write it up on word.. I just finished Christmas cards and have a few other things to do .
Then the first of the year I will be in the SKETCKBOOK CHALLENGE, I have a button- I just learned how to put that on. now I need to go get willows. But check it out you might like to join the fun.. I will post here and on their flicker page..
I can not post daily so I will try to post weekly. ADD makes it hard- I have about 9 projects surrounding me.. slowly clearing out each one. Bye for now- Happy Holidays and a Bright and Wonderful new year to come for us all.

art in the park in June

Kate, Jackie and I did art in the park last weekend- sssooooo hot !! but good seeing friends.
Saw my friend Pat from the litchfield exchange today. Her and Hubby have wens. night dinner, and a show by Jack Braun. It is every other wens night at 5:30 pm reservations required.. lots of fun and friends and excellent food- can't beat the prices too !! june 24- july 8 and 22 - etc....

will post pics, just needed to touch base, did not realize how long it had been- being on this , facebook, twitter, linkedin, art bistro, spark people, my space,etc- it gets spread thin....

wonderful weekend !! weather was fabulous. I sold the 2nd shekerie I had made, need to put up a picture.
then the next weekend I went to MD sheep and wool fest in MD and it was fabulous !! cool and did rain sunday, but sale were excellent all of the cotton wreaths and some patterns and handspun yarns.. good Friends, good fun. saw my son and his family too.. Looking forward to next year...
Met Amy with www.Knitty.com and a ton of Ravelry'ers !! going to do a few yard sales and have another art sale at the Lazy Gator, may 23 in Murrels Inlet,SC. make more shekeries..

I am not happy with the green dyed angora I spun- I did not have enough dye.. I did get a basket of mohair washed to take to maryland and have made into roving.. hate carding..

I will miss thing-a-day, but it was hard to show a finished creation for me as I have projects of all kinds started, 1/2 finished and almost finished... I finished plying my angora that I had out. the lendrom and skein winder have been put back into my bedroom.. on to my other projects. nice to complete a mission.....
