This shekerie is painted, polyurathaned and beaded with metal beads. I was very happy with the way it turned out. It takes just as long to make this smaller one as it does to make the large ones - so pricing is hard, people do not understand that. Posted by Picasa

this is my little gourd patch beside the house. it is ok - the ones in the gardens are not doing anything. these will go with me if I move before they are ready- that will be interesting. I am going to a gourd festival in Raleigh,NC. this comming weekend, can not wait- need to get all the gourds I can - to finish all the projects I have been writing down. The next festival near me is not until may.  Posted by Picasa

gourds in progress, I really enjoy the whole process of working with the gourd to make fun and pretty stuff. these have been cleaned and holes drilled cleaned out and are ready to be dyed, painted, beaded etc. some are going to be shekeries, some bird homes, and the 1/2 's wall art. I am packing up the house right now to put it on the market so I have not been artistic lately- writting down all the ideas. Posted by Picasa

Hello, long time gone by. I have been so busy I forget to write in the blog, then so much has happened that I procrastinated. My PC has been acting up also making it difficult as I am not a wizard at computers either and when Dell and Microsoft wont help you , you know you are in trouble. I will try to put up my new pictures. I finished the "Dune" and did another one called " first Journey". I have been learning how to paint cypress knees, make Shekeries - a gourd percusion instrument, also Hobo Bags. I am going to put up on "Esty" for sale. An attempt at the huge tree in the picture below, from the other side, it was harder than I had expected. I took a picture from my view, maybe try again another time. Ruth in our group says there is a pamphlet on some of the huge trees in the area, they have names and stories... will look this up and let you know.. Posted by Picasa
